Nadal destroys Federer

Jun 8th, 2008 | By chetannarula | Category: French Open, Tennis

In a masterly display, Rafael Nadal destroyed the world number one Roger Federer in the French Open men’s final today.

Nadal won the match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, 6-0 and it was almost as if Federer was in a daze from the beginning. The world’s best tennis player tried everything that he could, long rallies to volleys, but couldn’t get past Nadal’s game. This is the fourth time in a row that Federer has lost to Spaniard in this tournament and it is almost as if Nadal is the only man standing between the title and the Swiss player.

Nadal however, has won this title four times in a row and equaled Bjorn Borg’s run of four consecutive French Open titles. He now has sights on Borg’s record of six victories in this clay court grand slam, but immediately he must concentrate on the grass court season, which will lead up to the Wimbledon, a tournament Federer excels at.
