China captures team gymnastic gold

China delivered a stunning performance in front of a packed crowd to claim the men’s team gymnastics gold in Beijing.
The host nation scored 286.125 points to regain the Olympic crown they won in 2000 and push defending champions Japan into second place. The Americans had been in the silver medal position until the final two events and eventually won a battle with Germany for the final podium spot.
China were the favourites after winning seven of the last eight world titles.
