Mohammad Asif will appear before the Indian Premier League anti-doping tribunal on November 29, his lawyer said.
Asif tested positive for the banned drug nandrolone during the inaugural IPL this year.
He has already appeared before the IPL panel - which consists of former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, doctor Ravi Bapat and lawyer Shirish Gupte - but that meeting was adjourned without a decision being taken.
Asif’s lawyer, Shahid Karim - who questioned the jurisdiction of the IPL panel in the preliminary hearing - is still hoping for a quick end to the case.
“We have worked on legal and medical aspects of the case and hope that the tribunal will make a decision at the hearing on November 29,” he said.
“Evidence will be recorded during the hearing, and we will present testimony.
“It is our chance to fight the case - and we will give it our all, since this is a matter of my client’s international career.”
Asif was banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board from all forms of cricket following the adverse test, in keeping with World Anti-Doping Agency rules.
